Butterfly Napkins & Flower Plates

Materials:

  1. Large paper napkins
  2. Wooden clothespins
  3. Markers or paint
  4. Paper plates (colored paper plates, such as yellow, work well)
  5. Scissors

Directions:

  1. The clothespins can double as place cards.
  2. If desired, paint the clothespins and/or write children's names on them with markers.
  3. Gather a napkin across the center to make "butterfly wings."
  4. Clip the center with a clothespin to hold the wings in place - and to form a body.
  5. Use scissors to scallop the edges of a paper plate to make a "flower."
  6. (You can also cut triangles on the edges of a paper plate to make a "sun."
  7. Place each child's butterfly napkin on a "flower" or a "sun!"
  8. Use the napkins and plates for a super fun lunch or snack!
