Dinosaur String Eggs
Materials:
- white glue (diluted with water)
- colorful yarn
- one balloon for each egg
- tray
- waxed paper
Directions:
- Blow up one balloon and tie shut for each dino egg.
- Place diluted glue in the tray.
- Help children dip string into the glue in the tray.
- Show children how to wrap yarn around the balloon in different directions.
- Yarn should crisscross to make shapes, such as triangles.
- Encourage children to wrap yarn until the balloon is almost covered.
- Set the balloon on waxed paper and let dry overnight.
- When yarn is dry, an adult should pop the balloon and throw away the rubber pieces.
- The egg should be lacy and hollow.
- If desired, tie sting to the egg and hang.
