Dinosaur String Eggs

Materials:

  1. white glue (diluted with water)
  2. colorful yarn
  3. one balloon for each egg
  4. tray
  5. waxed paper

Directions:

  1. Blow up one balloon and tie shut for each dino egg.
  2. Place diluted glue in the tray.
  3. Help children dip string into the glue in the tray.
  4. Show children how to wrap yarn around the balloon in different directions.
  5. Yarn should crisscross to make shapes, such as triangles.
  6. Encourage children to wrap yarn until the balloon is almost covered.
  7. Set the balloon on waxed paper and let dry overnight.
  8. When yarn is dry, an adult should pop the balloon and throw away the rubber pieces.
  9. The egg should be lacy and hollow.
  10. If desired, tie sting to the egg and hang.
