Heart Suncatchers

Materials:

1. pencil(s)
2. crayons
3. crayon shapener or potato peeler
4. old newspaper
5. wax paper
6. iron (for adult use only)
7. hole punch
8. ribbon

Directions:

1. Adult supervision is important for this craft.
2. Shave crayons into small pieces with a crayon sharpener or potato peeler.
3. Find a work area that is safe for ironing.
4. Place newspapers on top of the work area.
5. Place a piece of wax paper on top of the newspaper.
6. Sprinkle crayon shavings on top.
7. Place another piece of wax paper on top.
8. Let cool.
9. Trace heart shapes on top of the waxed paper.
10. Cut out heart shapes with scissors.
11. Punch a hole near the top.
12. String ribbon through the hole to hang the heart(s).
