Indoor Snowballs

Materials:

  1. old socks
  2. packing material (such as styrofoam peanuts)

Directions:

  1. Fill socks halfway with packing material.
  2. Tie ends into a knot or sew together.
  3. These "snowballs" can be used indoors or outdoors!
  4. Have a snowball throwing contest. See who can throw the farthest.
  5. Place an object (such as a mitten) a few feet away from the children. See who can throw his/her snowball closest to the target.
  6. Hide a snowball. Tell children if they are "hot" (near the snowball) or "cold" (far away).
  7. Place a laundry basket across the room or yard. Give each child five chances to throw. See how many snowballs each child can throw into the basket.
  8. Divide the children into 2 groups. Place each group on a different side of the room. The team with the least amount of snowballs after 5 minutes wins!
