Melted Crayons

Materials:

  1. broken crayon pieces
  2. muffin tin (a heart shaped muffin tin works well)
  3. cookie sheet
  4. scrap paper
  5. scissors (optional)
  6. colored card stock (optional)
  7. marker or crayons (optional)
  8. double-sided foam mounting tape (optional)

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 250 degrees.
  2. Fill muffin tins with broken crayon pieces.
  3. Place on the muffin tin on a cookie sheet to catch any drips.
  4. Bake until the crayons melt, about 10-15 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and let cool.
  6. When cool, remove crayons from molds.
  7. Smooth any rough edges by rubbing them on a piece of scrap paper.
  8. To make a valentine, cut a shape out of a piece of card stock.
  9. Use the foam mounting tape to tape the crayon onto the valentine.
  10. Write a fun message such as "You make my heart melt."
  11. Another possible slogan is "You color my world."
