Milk Jug Jack-O-Lantern
Materials:
- a plastic gallon milk jug
- pencil, pen or marker
- orange acrylic paint (or orange tempera paint with white glue mixed in)
- Paint brushes or sponges
- Black paint or a large black magic marker
- small flashlight
- tacky glue (or a hot glue gun with adult supervision)
- scissors (or an x-acto knife with adult supervision)
Directions:
- Decide what kind of face you want your jack-o-lantern to have.
- Draw the face on the milk jug.
- Carefully cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth out of the milk jug.
- Children can paint the jug with paint and sponges. You may need more than one coat of paint.
- Let the paint dry.
- Let children draw on the pumpkin's face with black marker.
- Glue a small flashlight to the inside of the milk jug lid.
- Turn on the flashlight and place the lid on the jug.
