Paper Bag Pinata
Materials:
- paper bag (small or large)
- small toys or snacks (such as small bags of pretzels)
- stapler
- newspaper
- colored tissue paper or streamers
- scissors
- hole punch
- string or yarn
Directions:
- Fill bag halfway with small toys or snacks.
- Close the top of the bag. Fold over 2-3 times and staple in place.
- Cover the work area with newspaper.
- Cut a piece of tissue paper a little larger than the bottom of the paper bag.
- Glue the tissue paper to the bottom of the bag. Fold the edges up around the bottom and glue in place.
- Cut strips of tissue paper (or use streamers). Cut "fringe" along the bottom edge of each strip.
- Glue the solid edge of the tissue paper (or streamer) to the bottom edge of the bag, letting the fringe hang down.
- Glue the second strip above the first. Continue until the bag is covered.
- Punch two holes along the top of the bag.
- Thread yarn or string through the holes. Tie the ends together to make a hanger for the pinata.
