Paper Bag Pinata

Materials:

  1. paper bag (small or large)
  2. small toys or snacks (such as small bags of pretzels)
  3. stapler
  4. newspaper
  5. colored tissue paper or streamers
  6. scissors
  7. hole punch
  8. string or yarn

Directions:

  1. Fill bag halfway with small toys or snacks.
  2. Close the top of the bag. Fold over 2-3 times and staple in place.
  3. Cover the work area with newspaper.
  4. Cut a piece of tissue paper a little larger than the bottom of the paper bag.
  5. Glue the tissue paper to the bottom of the bag. Fold the edges up around the bottom and glue in place.
  6. Cut strips of tissue paper (or use streamers). Cut "fringe" along the bottom edge of each strip.
  7. Glue the solid edge of the tissue paper (or streamer) to the bottom edge of the bag, letting the fringe hang down.
  8. Glue the second strip above the first. Continue until the bag is covered.
  9. Punch two holes along the top of the bag.
  10. Thread yarn or string through the holes. Tie the ends together to make a hanger for the pinata.
