Salt Dough Ornaments

Materials:

1. 1/4 cup water
2. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3. 1/2 teaspoon food coloring
4. 3/4 cup flour
5. 1/2 cup salt
6. cloves, cinnamon, vanilla, or peppermint (optional)
7. rolling pin
8. cookie cutters
9. a pencil
10. paint or glitter (optional)
11. string
12. scissors

Directions:

1. Mix water, oil, and food coloring.
2. Add all dry ingredients and mix well.
3. Knead until smooth.
4. If desired, knead in a little cloves, cinnamon, vanilla, or peppermint to scent the dough.
5. Roll out the dough on a flat surface.
6. Cut with cookie cutters.
7. Use a pencil to make a hole in each shape for hanging.
8. Let shapes air dry.
9. If desired, decorate shapes with paint or glitter.
10. Cut a piece of string. Thread through the hole and tie to hang the ornament.
