Streamer Dance Skirts
Materials:
- Scissors
- 1 1/2 inch strip of ribbon or cloth (for the waistband)
- Crepe paper steamers
- Stapler
- stickers, silk flowers, or ribbon (optional)
- music
Directions:
- Cut posterboard or cloth into 1 1/2 inch strips.
- Measure a strip large enough to go around each child's waist. Add on 16 inches so you will be able to tie the skirt around a child's waist.
- Cut 10-16 pieces of crepe paper streamers for the "skirt."
- Staple one end of each streamer to the underside of the waistband.
- If desired, you can decorate the waist band with stickers, silk flowers, or more ribbon.
- Tie skirts on, turn on some music, and dance!
- You can make a variety of skirts for different occasions. Try red, white and blue streamers for Independence Day or orange and black streamers for Halloween!
