What Shall We Wear for The Weather?

Materials:

  1. paper plate
  2. index card
  3. pencil
  4. crayons or markers
  5. paper fastener
  6. hole punch
  7. rainy day clothes, such as a raincoat and an umbrella
  8. snow clothes, such as a scarf, hat, and mittens
  9. sun accessories, such as sunscreen and sunglasses
  10. cloudy accessories, such as an umbrella, a jacket, or sunscreen

Directions:

  1. With a pencil, divide the paper plate into 4 sections.
  2. Label each section with the words: sunny, rainy, cloudy, and snowy.
  3. Have children draw a weather picture in each section.
  4. Poke a small hole in the center of the plate with a pencil.
  5. Trim the index card into an arrow shape. Punch a hole in one end.
  6. Fasten the arrow to the plate with the paper fastener.
  7. Have children turn the arrow to the weather that is outside today.
  8. Use props to dress for the weather.
  9. If it's sunny, put on sunscreen and sunglasses.
  10. If it's snowy, put on a scarf, hat, and gloves!
  11. If it's rainy, put on a raincoat and use an umbrella.
  12. If it's cloudy, you may want to think about an umbrella - it might rain!
