What Shall We Wear for The Weather?
Materials:
- paper plate
- index card
- pencil
- crayons or markers
- paper fastener
- hole punch
- rainy day clothes, such as a raincoat and an umbrella
- snow clothes, such as a scarf, hat, and mittens
- sun accessories, such as sunscreen and sunglasses
- cloudy accessories, such as an umbrella, a jacket, or sunscreen
Directions:
- With a pencil, divide the paper plate into 4 sections.
- Label each section with the words: sunny, rainy, cloudy, and snowy.
- Have children draw a weather picture in each section.
- Poke a small hole in the center of the plate with a pencil.
- Trim the index card into an arrow shape. Punch a hole in one end.
- Fasten the arrow to the plate with the paper fastener.
- Have children turn the arrow to the weather that is outside today.
- Use props to dress for the weather.
- If it's sunny, put on sunscreen and sunglasses.
- If it's snowy, put on a scarf, hat, and gloves!
- If it's rainy, put on a raincoat and use an umbrella.
- If it's cloudy, you may want to think about an umbrella - it might rain!
