BBQ Baked Beans

Makes:

about 3 cups.

1/3 cup "BBQ Baked Beans" counts as 1/4 cup vegetable.


Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (16 ounce) can pork & beans

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cook onion, green pepper, and oil in a skillet until soft, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add tomato sauce and brown sugar. Remove from heat.
  4. Spray a 1-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  5. Spread pork and beans in the bottom of the dish.
  6. Pour sauce evenly over beans.
  7. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.

Serve:

1/4 cup to each 1-2 year old for lunch or dinner.
1/3 cup to each 3-5 year old for lunch or dinner.
1/2 cup to each 6-12 year old for lunch or dinner.
