Black Bean Burgers (Vegetarian/Vegan)

9 patties
1 (13 x 18") half sheet pan

2 (18 x 26") full sheet pans


Ingredients (homes):

  • 4 cups black beans, canned, drained, rinsed
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour (for a gluten-free version, use gluten-free oat flour)
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Ingredients (centers):

  • 1 gallon black beans, canned, drained, rinsed
  • 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour (for a gluten-free version, use gluten-free oat flour)
  • 2 cups salsa
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt or to taste

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Stir ingredients with a mixer until about half the beans are mashed and the "dough" sticks together.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Use a #10 (3/8 cup) scoop to portion patties. Flatten patties.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.

Serve:

1 patty = 1.5 oz. eq. meat alternate
