Granola Cereal II (WG)

24 (1/4 cup) oz. eq. Portions

Ingredients (homes):

  • 6 cup Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla

Ingredients (centers):

  • 12 cup Rolled Oats
  • 1 cup Oil
  • 2/3 cup Honey
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 TBSP. Vanilla

Directions:

  1. Mix rolled oats and brown sugar.
  2. Whisk together oil, honey, and vanilla in a bowl.
  3. Pour and stir into oat mixture.
  4. Spread on a baking sheet coated with nonstick spray.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees. Stir every 5 minutes until golden, about 30 minutes total.
  6. Cool.

Serve:

1 Portion = 1 oz. eq. whole grain.
Serve with 1/4 cup diced fresh fruit or 2 TBSP. dried fruit for each 1-2 year old at breakfast to count as 1/4 cup fruit.
Serve with 1/4 cup dried fruit for each child 3+ years at breakfast to count as 1/2 cup fruit.
