Ingredients (homes):
- 2 cup Old Fashioned Oats
- 1/8 tsp. Salt, optional
- 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/2 cup Nut, Seed OR Soy Butter
- 2 TBSP. Honey*
Ingredients (centers):
- 6 cup Old Fashioned Oats
- 1/3 tsp. Salt, optional
- 1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cup Nut, Seed OR Soy Butter
- 1/4 cup + 2 TBSP. Honey*
Directions:
- Mix oats, salt, vanilla and cinnamon.
- Microwave nut/seed/soy butter until melted, 30-45 seconds. Stir into oats. Mix in honey.
- Bake at 325F on a greased or lined baking sheet for 18-25 minutes until LIGHTLY browned.
Serve:
1 Portion = 1 oz. eq. whole grain.
Tip: At snack, serve granola over fruit (1/2 cup for ages 1-5 and 3/4 cup for ages 6-12) OR yogurt (2 oz. for ages 1-5 and 4 oz. for ages 6-12).
* do not serve honey to children under the age of 1.
